Valerie Nelson created Snailerie.co as an online pseudonym and place for making a collection of branded visual art and printed products. The name sprouted from a fondness for snails and their slow nature, combined with Valerie's name. Beginning around 2022, Valerie began making illustrations and design work specifically for Snailerie.co, and the shop opened in March 2023.

Initially selling postcards and sticker sheets, The Snailerie Shop is slowly but surely expanding to include more stationery items and small goodies down the line.
